The Mediterranean’s unique natural heritage is increasingly threatened by climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and ecosystem degradation. Addressing these urgent, interconnected challenges requires cross-border cooperation, scientific knowledge and effective environmental governance.
As part of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, the Natural Heritage Mission works to protect, restore and valorise nature across the Euro-Mediterranean area. By connecting research, policymakers, public authorities and practitioners, the Natural Heritage Mission strengthens cooperation, supports the transfer of knowledge into concrete policies and practices and promotes adaptable solutions across territories.
Driving this shared effort, two governance projects (Community4Nature and Dialogue4Nature) work in close synergy to upscale knowledge and results produced at the European level, and to transfer and mainstream them into long-term effective policies.
