This year, our Mission’s Community is celebrating the EMD in Rovinj, Croatia.
We prepared an exhibition which raises awareness of the protection of oceans and coastal areas (including ports), as well as on the preservation of the local maritime heritage. The exhibition features informational material produced by members of the Natural Heritage Mission’s community of practice. It will be held on the 26th and 27th of June, in front of the Eco-Museum Batana and it will be open to the general public.
The members of the Natural Heritage Mission’s community of practice will also visit the Eco-Museum Batana. The objective of the visit is to learn about the significance of ‘batana’ as a part of the intercultural dialogue between Rovinj’s community networks of wooden vessels production families and the related local communities of the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas. This dialogue actively contributes to international initiatives, protecting the maritime heritage and culture in Europe and worldwide.
