This year’s Annual Institutional Dialogue for Mediterranean Nature of the Natural Heritage Mission will be held on 28th and 29th of November, in Málaga, Spain (in-person).
The first day of the event, the 28th of November, will focus on marine and coastal restoration. This is a key discussion towards the restoration of at least 20% of the world’s land and sea areas by 2030, as identified under Target 2 of the Global Biodiversity Framework. It also supports the target of 30% of terrestrial, coastal, freshwater, and marine ecosystems in good condition by 2030 under the EU Nature Restoration Law. This event is organised back-to-back with the 6th International Marine Science Communication Conference (CommOCEAN).
The second day of the event, the 29th of November, will offer a capacity-building session on the policy-science interface. The objective is to provide insights for projects and organisations to better navigate the complexities of decision-making for nature conservation. Additionally, the Natural Heritage community of practice will have the chance to meet, exchange ideas and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
