The Natural Heritage Mission was present at the 3rd ISE Community of Practice gathering of the Interreg Euro-MED Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 2 to 4 April 2025.
The Natural Heritage Mission was presented during the Governance Projects session on April 3rd, by the Region of Crete, Lead Partner of the Dialogue4Nature project. The presentation highlighted the Mission’s role in supporting the integration of natural heritage into sustainable development policies and practices, and its contribution to the shared goals of the Interreg Euro-MED community.
This three-day event brought together Thematic and Governance projects, with the aim of strengthening cooperation across the Mediterranean and fostering dialogue on sustainable innovation, circular economy, and behavioral change. Centered around the core actions connect, learn, share, and collaborate, the programme featured project showcases, thematic working groups, interactive workshops, and tailored training sessions.
New Thematic Working Groups were also established during the meeting, with the goal of forming common strategic approaches and developing White Papers across the Mission’s priority areas.
The Natural Heritage Mission’s participation in this event demonstrates its strong commitment to a more resilient and environmentally friendly Mediterranean. Events like the ISE CoP emphasise the significance of natural heritage in achieving regional sustainability goals by offering essential platforms for multi-level cooperation and cross-sectoral dialogue. They also underline the need to strengthen linkages among the different Missions of the Interreg Euro-MED programme. Fostering synergies between them is the key to achieving greater coherence, multiplying impact and addressing regional challenges.
