Our Story

The Natural Heritage Mission focuses its efforts on addressing this exact challenge: protecting, restoring and valorizing the natural resources.

The two governance projects of the Mission, the Thematic Community and Institutional Dialogue projects are a continuation of the ‘Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community’ and the ‘Blue Growth’ Interreg Med projects.  Partners are working closely to uptake the knowledge and results produced under the two previous projects, to transfer them to other contexts and to mainstream them into effective policies.

The Thematic Community project will offer a chance to value lessons learned and utilize valuable results. It will be supported by the coordination efforts of the Institutional Dialogue project, which will strengthen relationships among key actors in the Mediterranean region. By leveraging existing networks, it will identify opportunities to enhance collaboration for policy harmonization and innovative governance practices.

Finally, the Mission will increase the visibility and impacts of the results of the future thematic projects co-financed by the Programme.
